The clever base design houses the W COB LED torch and 3W COB LED headlight (via removable cover). So when the torch and headlight are in the base and turned on, the opaque base lights up to act as a hands free lantern. Both the headlight and torch can be used independently of the base. When you operate the on/off switch on the base, it activates the headlight hidden away under the removable cover on the top section
